Charter seems more interested in protecting its core broadband 'connectivity relationships' than Charter seems more interested in protecting its core broadband 'connectivity relationships' than renewing its $2.2 billion deal with Disney.
The headline I read today indicates that Charter Spectrum is more interested in protecting high-speed Internet than its relationship with Disney, ABC, ESPN, and its customers.
Aside from the fact that its broadband business is being majorly impacted by mobile companies offering 5G home high-speed home Internet, this is the same short-sighted thinking that got cable into trouble & created room for CTV and streaming.
If a customer cut the video cord because they were unhappy with the removal of programming that they love (and likely the only reason they have cable), why do Cable companies think I would be loyal to their high-speed Internet.
Just as with #CTV #Streaming #OTT there are now options for high-speed internet. When you go down a dark path once you should probably look for one that is illuminated. Apparently, that is not happening. I know there is more to this but you would think smart people would negotiate smartly And look out for the long term.
