#CTV, #Streaming, #OTT were blossoming well before Covid. There was little doubt that COVID was the rocket fuel that ignited the growth and changed how Americans view television.
There are a bunch of other reasons people Cut The Cord:
Too expensive
Always raising the price on loyal customers
Only watching a handful of the bundled channels
The installation window and much more.
Most research pointed to covid as the inflection point for CTV|Streaming. I did make a post about cable creating the opening for Streaming|CTV by turning loyal customers into antagonists & streaming advocates https://bit.ly/3ZqRrRa .
Much of the research and many competitors to streaming including traditional cable and broadcast said, with a sigh of relief, that CTV|Streaming|OTT would slow once COVID cleared. Somehow believing in a false pretense may have given them hope but the simple truth since 2020 cord cutting has soared to epic levels.
The forecast is that cord-cutting will continue.
The writers strike is not helping. Inflation is eating into a family’s disposable income, smart TVs and streaming sticks are easier to use, the CTV ecosystem is full of large players with huge content libraries. Major League sports have made several deals with streaming services. FASTS have good content and are getting better...
CTV | Streaming | OTT always getting better for marketers, advertisers and viewers.
