My wife & son are safe, there’s nothing more important than that. Like thousands of others, my home flooded during the hurricane, my heart goes out to all impacted. Count blessings, not losses

Stay strong, and remember that while recovery may not be quick or easy, everything will be okay in time. As the saying goes, “Good things come to those who wait.” SISU.

This reflection comes from my experience cleaning up after the storm. I had many workers in my house—most were working hard and had a great attitude. But there were at least two who stood out for the wrong reasons. They were slacking off, speaking loudly, and carrying a sense of entitlement, jealousy, or even disrespect. It was clear they had a chip on their shoulder.

Nothing ever came easy to me, I doubt it does for many. I overheard the two workers above talking about how they should have a house like mine and the things I have (or had, as much of it is now gone) why the world is against them...

Instead of working, they spent their time blaming others for their lack of material things, personal fulfillment, relationships... They talked about wanting to be successful in their current job or the next one, but their actions made it clear they weren’t willing to put in the effort. I had little confidence they would treat my family or home with care or proper treatment. Quite frankly I spoke with the foreman and they were dismissed.

Success doesn’t come from wishful thinking—it comes from hard work. Lets go SISU
