Where has the objectivity gone?

Having spent 38 years in the media industry, I make it a point to watch all major channels when newsworthy events occur to gain a well-rounded perspective. This means tuning into ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, Fox, NewsNation, and Newsmax.

I don't make political comments, and this isn't one either. It's an observation about how various media outlets are covering the election cycle and political commentary in general.

It's been disappointing, and somewhat remarkable, to see just how partisan the media has become.

Sometimes, I wonder if they’re watching the same debate, summarizing the same story, or discussing the same issues. While I understand the difference between objective reporting and subjective commentary, it feels like the latter is now in the driver’s seat.

I wish this would change. If the focus were more on content and less on pushing a political agenda, we would all be better informed.
